What We Celebrate: Queer Paradigms 4 Creative Embodiment

Curated by Kiki Robinson & Ylvadroma Marzanna Radziszewski of The Living Altar

Museum of Museum - Charles Mudede Theater

(February 4th, 2022 - May 6th, 2022)

“What We Celebrate”  is a collection of short films and ritualized media from transgender, gender non-binary, and queer artists. In response to our current zeitgeist, framed by the regenerative cycle of The Devil, The Tower, & The Star archetypes of the Tarot’s Major Arcana; we seek to liberate “Celebration” from the betrayal of forced resilience.

What becomes possible when we acknowledge forced resilience as a scapegoat of fascism? How do we reclaim Self-Worth from the relentless grind & hustle of survival? What can Hope become when liberated from the oppressive systems born of settler-colonialism, white supremacy, cis-het patriarchy, and kyriarchal control?

“What We Celebrate” is an invitation to revel in the ritual of queer and gender expansive beauty, creative embodiment, grief, and the subtle intimacies we are so often forced to take for granted.
